MEET TERESA & HER FAMILY

Hi, I'm Teresa English

MY JOURNEY

The journey I took to get here isn’t typical, but nothing is these days. My name is Teresa English. I grew up in a working-class family in a rural town in Georgia. New England immediately felt like home and my husband and I chose to settle in Billerica.  We have two children in the public school system. Public service has always been important to me, having grown up in a military family. From enlisting in the Air Force to teaching History at Lawrence High School, I continually seek ways to better the world around me. That's why I ran for State Representative in 2020.

OUR UNCERTAIN TIMES

Just like most of you, my life has been turned upside down since March. At first, our focus was on survival. Between parenting, illnesses, teaching high school, and sheltering in place - life was hard.

As we adjusted and learned new skills to cope, our focus shifted from ourselves, back to our community. As a public school civics & history teacher, I know what our Commonwealth needs to do to lighten the burden on all of our families and to lessen the struggle on our small business owners.

I understand the tremendous good we can accomplish if we work together. As a Veteran Military Analyst, I know how to bring people together to do what's right for our Commonwealth. Unfortunately, I do not believe there are enough brave people representing us in office. During these uncertain times, we need elected officials who are willing to make the tough choices.

MEET MY FAMILY

Ken, Tobias, and Ian English

Let me tell you a bit about my family.

My husband, Ken, is a gregarious cardiac nurse who put down his weapons after serving in Iraq and picked up a stethoscope. His patient-centered view of nursing, advocacy, education, and holistic care demonstrates his passion for helping those who cannot advocate for themselves.

Our sons Tobias and Ian both attend the Marshall Middle School. Tobias is a burgeoning chef and avid PC gamer and Ian is a kind and generous free-spirit who enjoys Ted Talks and nature walks! Both of our sons have also been involved with the Billerica Friends of Music.

We're looking forward to getting to know you and your family better!
