MEET TERESA & HER FAMILY

Hi, I'm Teresa English

MY JOURNEY

I grew up in a working-class military family in a rural town in Georgia. I learned the value of public service early, and I followed in the footsteps of generations of my family members by enlisting in the military.  After serving our country in the Air Force as an Intelligence Analyst, I continued my dedication to service by becoming a public school teacher at Lawrence High School and getting involved in Billerica’s local government. I am honored to have been elected three times by my neighbors as a Town Meeting Representative, where I’ve fought for all the residents of Billerica.

In 2021, our cherished local farmers market was shut down. I couldn’t sit by as a staple of our community, and a reliable source of fresh produce for many Billericans disappeared. I immediately joined with fellow concerned neighbors to rescue and reorganize the market, becoming the group’s secretary. I am proud to have led efforts to make the market more accessible to all, like expanding SNAP availability. During our second season, the new Billerica Community Farmers Market was voted the best in Massachusetts.

That’s just one type of success I want to bring to the office of State Representative. I’ve seen firsthand that we’re at our best when we work together. Rather than inciting division and hatred, I want to be a representative for everyone in town. I’m running to make a difference for you and your family and to ensure that our town is no longer overlooked and disregarded on Beacon Hill.

I hope to earn your vote on or before Tuesday, November 8!

MEET MY FAMILY

Ian, Ken, Teresa, Tobias (L to R)

Let me brag a bit about my family.

My husband, Ken, is a gregarious cardiac nurse who put down his weapons after serving in Iraq and picked up a stethoscope. His patient-centered view of nursing, advocacy, education, and holistic care demonstrates his passion for helping those who cannot advocate for themselves.

Our sons, Tobias and Ian, both attend local public schools. Tobias is a burgeoning chef and avid PC gamer and Ian is a kind and generous free-spirit who enjoys Ted Talks and nature walks! You can often find us enjoying programs through the Billerica Friends of Music, the Billerica Recreation Department, and the Billerica Public Library.

We're looking forward to getting to know you and your family better!
