Statement on State House Passage of An Act Advancing Offshore Wind and Clean Energy

On Thursday, the Massachusetts State House passed bipartisan legislation that will expand offshore wind in the Commonwealth and create many well-paying green union jobs. I am happy to see such a good bill that will benefit working families.
On the other hand, I am extremely disappointed that our State Representative, Marc Lombardo, voted against this bill. At a time when Billerica residents are working paycheck to paycheck, our State Representative voted against well-paying jobs. At a time when the climate crisis threatens our children’s futures, he voted against transitioning to a green energy economy. Even though an overwhelming majority of Democrats and Republicans put personal politics aside, he voted against progress, clean energy, and improving our energy grid.
Over his six terms, we have seen Rep. Lombardo consistently put his politics before the betterment of Billerica.
As a mom, a teacher, a veteran, and your next State Representative, I’ll fight for a better future for our town and our children.
